30 Minute Treadmill Circuit Workout

Can you believe that it’s New Year’s Eve?! I feel like the holidays, and year in general, have just flown by! Since my hubby and I just arrived back in Cali on Sunday night, we decided to be low-key this New Year’s. I’m planning on making some fun grub and drinks, breaking out some games and music, making a fire, and lighting our tree for one more night this year.

While I admit that I’m not big on New Year’s resolutions, I do think that we all operate differently in goal setting and accomplishing those dreams. I say, if setting a goal for the new year is the motivation that works for you to achieve your goals, go for it! Regardless of whether you’re in the midst of completing a goal or are planning on just getting started tomorrow on the first day of the year, remember to take it one day and one step at a time. Whatever you’re striving for, persistence and consistency will get you there!

And speaking of consistency, if any of you out there have a resolution of exercising more often, I believe that one of the keys in keeping up with an active life is knowing that every little workout counts. Whether you have 20 minutes for a run or 2 hours for a hike, it all adds up. Every time you exercise, you’re making the choice to make your health a priority.

When I was on the East coast for over 2 weeks for the holidays, many of the days I only could squeeze in half an hour of exercise. I kept reminding myself that every little bit counts, and gave myself kudos for fitting in any type of workout. Below is a workout I did on Christmas Eve while staying at my father-in-law’s house. The only exercise equipment I had available to me was a treadmill, which I usually do not use, but I made it work and came up with a quick and sweaty workout by incorporating incline walking with body weight exercises.     Lately, I’ve been reminding myself the same thing….that anything is better than nothing. I’ve always been the type that thinks if you don’t workout for at least 45 minutes (tough workouts!) that it is a waste. But, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that’s so not true. Now, my goal is to just move more. Daily!

      I know exactly what you’re saying – sounds like you’re hardcore about your workouts like me! 😉 But yes, when it comes to exercise or anything to do with healthy living, it shouldn’t be an all-or-nothing mentality. Every little bit of movement counts!

Packed with fruit… but my kid calls it ice cream🍦We love breaking out our @yonanas gadget all summer long! 

My favorite way to make fruit soft serve 👇🏼

INGREDIENTS
1 sliced ripe banana, frozen
2/3 cup strawberries, frozen
favorite toppings: sprinkles, nuts, nut butter, etc

INSTRUCTIONS
Remove your fruit from the freezer. Allow it to thaw for about 10 minutes, until it starts to slightly soften.
Place the frozen fruit into the Yonanas maker, a handful at a time. I like to run about 1/2 the banana, then the strawberries, and then the rest of the banana through the machine straight into a bowl. I then use a spoon to swirl the fruit together, and immediately place the soft serve into cones if using.
Add in your favorite toppings and enjoy before it melts!
Serves 1 - scale up as desired!

School’s out for my little girl ☀️& here are 4️⃣ screen-free tools that I’m using to keep my 6 year old busy and learning when we’re home this summer: 

1️⃣ @mondaymandala’s awesome array of free digital printables on just about anything you can think of 🖍️

2️⃣ @youngwildandfriedman’s amazing sensory kits that are high-quality and last forever. I have purchased a serious amount of these play dough and sensory sand kits over the years & they are worth every penny! My kiddo will spend hours setting up all of the little trinkets and building little play dough towns.

3️⃣ @Canva’s printable educational worksheets ✏️ For instance, I printed out money worksheets & am planning on doing a money lesson that includes us emptying out her piggy bank to delve deeper into currency & paying for something she wants at the store with her own 💵

4️⃣ A @brain_quest workbook — I bought one last summer as well & we love incorporating it into little lessons at home!

While we have visited numerous fun hot springs with our daughter, it was definitely nice to be out of mom mode & experience our local hot springs while our little one was in school. From hot tubs and cold plunges to saunas & clay mud, we got to kick back & enjoy it all!
