Looking for the best way to whip up frozen fruit soft serve? Try this super easy Yonanas recipe!

Summer feels like it has officially arrived
…which means I am constantly craving all the frozen treats and snacks! From snacking on frozen blueberries and bowls of juicy seasonal fruit to protein smoothies and homemade fruit soft serve, I love finding refreshing ways to enjoy fruit during the warmer months.
One kitchen gadget I reach for all summer long is my Yonanas Frozen Fruit Soft Serve Maker. My daughter loves making “healthy ice cream” with it. We often will whip up our frozen treats after a bike ride or swim when we’re craving something thirst-quenching.

Don’t get me wrong—I love real ice cream. But for an everyday frozen treat, fruit soft serve is a great alternative. It’s naturally sweet, packed with fruit, and easy to customize with your favorite toppings. We often add sprinkles and serve ours in ice cream cones for an extra-fun dessert.

It’s Yonanas Time!
I hesitate to call this a Yonanas “recipe” since it is extremely simple, but this truly is our go-to way to make fruit soft serve. For anyone new to using a Yonanas machine or even just thinking about getting one, this is an easy-peasy way make frozen fruit soft serve that is both kid and adult approved.

The key to delicious Yonanas soft serve is using ripe bananas. The riper the banana, the sweeter your soft serve will be. I like to peel and slice ripe bananas before freezing them in a freezer bag for at least a day. You can also buy frozen fruit from the store to save time (I often use store-bought frozen strawberries).

The recipe below makes one serving, but it’s simple to scale up. When making soft serve for my daughter and me, I’ll typically use two frozen bananas and 1⅓ cups frozen strawberries to make a nice serving for each of us.

My Favorite Easy Yonanas Recipe: Strawberry Banana Nice Cream
Equipment
- 1 Yonanas Frozen Fruit Soft Serve Maker
Ingredients
- 1 sliced ripe banana, frozen
- 2/3 cup strawberries, frozen
- toppings of choice: sprinkles, nuts, nut butter, ice cream cones
Instructions
- Remove your fruit from the freezer. Allow it to thaw for about 10 minutes, until it starts to slightly soften.
- Place the frozen fruit into the Yonanas maker, a handful at a time. I like to run about 1/2 the banana, then the strawberries, and then the rest of the banana through the machine straight into a bowl. I then use a spoon to swirl the fruit together, and immediately place the soft serve into cones if using.
- Add in your favorite toppings and enjoy before it melts!
