Happy February! Whew! I can't believe that the first month of the year is already gone, but I feel like my year is off to a great start. On the fitness front, my 2015 has included a lot of movement and a lot of yoga practice. At the egging on of my sister, whose in training for her yoga certification, I decided to take part in an Instagram yoga challenge throughout January. Basically every day of the month, the challenge hosts - both amazing, beautiful yogis - would post a photo or video of them doing a yoga pose, and everyone participating in the challenge would post a photo of their best attempt at doing the same pose. Deemed the #BeStrongin2015 challenge, I certainly felt strong & healthy practicing these poses, and I enjoyed the sense of community I felt via social media ... [Read More]

Striving for Better Balance in Life {pHenOH 7.4 Sports Drink Review}
Disclaimer: The following post is sponsored by pHenOH through my ambassadorship with Fit Approach. As always, all opinions expressed are my own. If I had to describe what healthy living means to me in one word, I'd say balance. Balance is a tricky thing: You don't just have it and keep it, it's something that you need to constantly work at, and it isn't always easily found. I've found myself swinging too far over on one side on the coin, only to later find myself way over in the other direction. But the beauty is that every day is a chance to achieve better balance, in whatever way you need it. A couple of the main ways that I'm constantly trying to keep things aligned in my life include: Balancing exercising often while also giving my body a chance to rest. Maintaining a ... [Read More]
Pineapple Mint Belly Soother Smoothie {Puritan’s Pride Giveaway!}
Disclaimer: This post is sponsored by Puritan’s Pride. As always, all opinions expressed are genuinely my own. Hi friends! You may or may not remember that last month I introduced a three-part seasonal smoothie series that I've teamed up with Puritan's Pride for. Last month's recipe theme was pumpkin (check out my chocolate chip pumpkin smoothie here!), and this month we're focusing on cleansing, belly soother smoothies. With the holidays right around the corner (read: lots of dessert, booze, decadent food, and running around like a crazy person) I think that just about all of us could also use some cleansing recipes in our lives, am I right?! Being that it's mid-November and all, I know that many of you are living in places that are feeling pretty chilly (BRRR!), so today I'm going to ... [Read More]
Apple & Greens Hemp Heart Juice
Between traveling, being around tons of people, and going nonstop while visiting family, I used to get a cold almost every time I went back to my home state of NJ during cooler months. Fortunately I had broken this pattern in the last few years largely due to some nutritional planning, but then last week I totally jinxed myself. I mentioned to my mom that I've developed a ritual of drinking a big green juice the day before I fly, and I believe that's why I haven't gotten under the weather after traveling in awhile. But then when I was flying back to Cali last Monday from the Northeast, I didn't get a chance to pick up a green monster..... and then my hubby and I both woke up with upper respiratory stuff going on the next day. Damn it! Welp, no one in their right mind enjoys having a cold ... [Read More]
Sweating it Out with Under Armour at IDEA World {Day 3 Recap}
Hi there! Hope that you all had a fabulous weekend. My mother-in-law has been in town visiting from Jersey, so my weekend was full of showing her a good time in SoCal. More on that later, but today, I'm recapping my third day of the IDEA World Fitness Conference! (Yoga posing in front of the convention center, of course.) My Saturday morning began bright and early with a 4:45 AM wake-up call to get ready for a.... ... [Read More]
The Highlight of 2014 IDEA World’s Blogfest: Jillian Michaels! {Day 2 Recap}
Happy Hump Day everyone! This week is going by fast for me, partly because I've been trying to catch up on work and rest the past few days. I was beat after having a busy schedule, so much fun, and little sleep while at IDEA World! Speaking of which, today I'm recapping day two of the convention. Let's get to it! My Friday began with a 7 AM bootcamp workout with Caroline and Moe, who are both fitness instructors in Boston. I met both of these women the first day of Blogfest, and immediately thought that they both were super cool. Caroline and I already had been following each other on Twitter, and I recognized her from social media. This seemed to be a theme at IDEA World, which made it even more fun because you're meeting people you already virtually "know." The ladies led the ... [Read More]
