Chocolate Raspberry Mocktail + Puritan’s Pride Giveaway!

Disclaimer: This post is sponsored by Puritan’s Pride, but as always, all opinions expressed are my own.

Hi friends!

Today’s post is the last installment of my 3-part Puritan’s Pride seasonal smoothie challenge. You may remember that in October, the theme was pumpkin smoothies (you can check out my chocolate chip pumpkin protein smoothie here), and my November creation was a pineapple mint smoothie for the belly soother smoothie theme. So what do we have going on for this month? Yummy mocktails!

mocktail-3

This simple 4-ingredient mocktail includes dark chocolate and cocoa powder, which are sources of antioxidants to support total-body wellness. Raspberries are a great source of antioxidants, fiber, and nutrients, and using frozen ones makes the mocktail a bit creamier.

mocktail-1Whether you’re pregnant, the designated driver, or just not into drinking alcohol, a creative non-alcoholic beverage is a great way to feel like you’re drinking something more fun than the usual boring drinks of choice. With all of the holiday gatherings everyone has going on, what seasonal smoothie theme is more appropriate this month than a healthy cocktail?!

Chocolate Raspberry Mocktail

Servings 1

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup frozen raspberries
  • 2/3 cup chocolate almond/soy/regular milk
  • 1 TBSP cocoa powder
  • 1 TBSP dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth.
  • Pour into a martini glass and enjoy!
Tried this recipe?Let us know how it was!

mocktail-2

Ignore the fact that my martini glass is wedding themed and not holiday themed! Amongst my many glasses, martini-style is not one that I collect due to my tendency to be an animated person who talks with my hands. I wind up spilling all over the place, but here I wanted to stay true to my mocktail and serve it in the proper glass! 😉

I digress… now onto the best part: THE GIVEAWAY!

ONE READER WILL WIN:

  • Puritan’s Pride Chocolate Soy Protein Isolate Powder
  • Lehi Valley Natural Ginger
  • Dynamic Health Pomegranate Juice Concentrate
  • Vanns Peppermint Flavor Extract
  • Puritan’s Pride Vitamin C Crystals
  • Stevia Powder

Puritans Pride-Dec products

I especially have been loving the peppermint extract (perfect for baking this time of the year!) and the stevia powder, and the chocolate soy protein is very similar to the brand’s natural flavored protein that I love and gave away last month. It’s great to throw half a scoop into smoothies, cereal bowls, and pancakes to get some extra protein in my diet!

TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY, YOU CAN DO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Follow @puritanspride on Twitter
  • Leave a comment telling me which product you’d like to try the most
  • Tweet about the giveaway (you can retweet any tweets I send out about the giveaway @foodiemtfitness)
  • Post a smoothie on Instagram using #seasonalsmoothie and #puritanspride hashtags, or repost any Puritan’s Pride mocktail pictures I publish @foodielovesfitness

Each method gets you one entry into the giveaway each time you do it. Make sure to leave a separate comment below for each of the ways that you’ve entered the giveaway. I’ll randomly choose a winner next Friday, Dec. 19th.

Also, along with the free shipping that Puritan’s Pride is offering all of its customers, there’s a special discount that you can use on their website if you buy any products via the links in this post. It’ll automatically get you $5 off of a purchase of $25!

You can also find Puritan’s Pride via their blog, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and YouTube accounts.

Questions: Are you a martini drinker? What’s the best mocktail you’ve ever had?

I don’t have any martini glasses either. I’ve actually asked for stemless wine glasses for Christmas; out of the three dozen we started out with, we have three left and I think one of them we stole from the neighbor.

We’ll be kicking off our week of family birthdays with my wonderful husband turning the big 4-0!

Something that intrigued me about Adam when I met him 20 years ago was that he seemed serious & quiet, but then would unexpectedly say something super witty or do something silly that cracked me up… & his serious-with-a-side-of-goofball personality remains true to this day (case in point: this video montage 😂)

After all, they say to marry the one who makes you laugh — and I, for one, highly recommend it❣️ Here’s to hoping the next 40 years are full of many more amazing adventures & accomplishments!

1️⃣ fun-filled day in Istanbul! 📍

Our favorite parts:
⭐️ Sultanahmet Square’s interesting historic sites, including the German Fountain & the Egyptian Obelisk
⭐️ Visiting the beautiful Blue Mosque
⭐️ Exploring the historic district and trying the street food (Why is the ice cream so.. sticky?!🍦)
⭐️ Venturing through the hectic Grand Bazaar
⭐️ A delicious dinner @amedroscafe
⭐️ Making friends with stray cats.. so many friendly cats! 🐈 As a huge animal lover, I adore that the city seems to take good care of its strays.. This is the first place I’ve ever been where they have vending machines to buy food for stray animals!

When I was newly pregnant with Camryn before we knew her gender, I had a vivid dream that I was picnicking with a little blonde girl in front of the Eiffel Tower. I woke up and told my husband, “Guess what? We’re having a girl!”

We got Camryn a passport at 5 months old with the idea that we’d visit Paris later that year and turn my literal dream into a reality. But then, COVID hit a few weeks later.

By the time we’d be comfortable traveling to Europe, we instead were selling our house in New England and traveling around the U.S. full-time.

We had adventures in plenty of other amazing places, but Paris remained a bucket list item.

…until now! Our picnic in Paris as a family of three may have happened a few years later than planned, but it was a bucket list item that was exactly how I’d pictured, perhaps even better.

It was such a magical evening staring at the Eiffel Tower, sipping champagne, and noshing on local food that we’d nabbed at shops around town ✨🥂

— all the while, laughing & soaking up the night with our wonderful little girl. 💗

Do you remember when you truly realized that the world is wide and you’ve only experienced a speck of it? 🌎

For me, it was the eye-opening opportunity of a college study abroad program in amazing Sicily. I fell in love with Italy, and the experience made me realize that I wanted to prioritize traveling and living in different places when I became a “real adult” (or in other words, when I graduated the following year).

Getting to return to the charming town of Taormina nearly two decades later with my family was a dream.

I returned to Sicily in a different phase of life: Older — I’ve almost doubled in age! Wiser. A mom. A wife.

Yet, still wide-eyed, always up for an adventure, and filled with wonder at the beauty of this world.

Different, but the same.

Taormina is still stunning, bustling with more tourists and more fame than I remembered thanks to things like “White Lotus” and Dolce & Gabbana fashion shows (one was happening while we were in town).

And so, I found Taormina herself to also be different, but the same — and definitely still a magical place ✨

Obsessed with my @airbnb view of both the sea & Mount Etna 😍 10/10 even though every walk home is a sweaty glute workout!

Got to bake up some delicious macarons in the beautiful city of Paris! 💕

Macarons are high on my daughter’s list of favorite desserts, and it was lovely learning how to make them from a Parisian pastry chef! The macaron ingredient list is short, but making them is an art ✨
