With the Super Bowl coming up in a week, I know that there are plenty of people out there trying to come up with easy but tasty (and hopefully somewhat healthy!) munchies to bring to a party or have at their own place. As I mentioned in my last post when sharing my recipe for queso fresco black bean dip, I am most definitely an appetizer and dip lover. So, without further adieu, I thought I'd share 6 awesome dip recipes with you today: French Onion Dip I just whipped up my take of this classic yummy dip for the first time last New Year's Eve. I liked it so much, I just may make it again on Sunday! Serve it with carrots, celery, pretzels, or (homemade) potato chips. You can check out the recipe here. Spinach & Artichoke Dip A lighter version than what you'll find in restaurants all ... [Read More]

Old Bay Potato Chips with French Onion Dip
Happy 2014 friends!! Check out my party animal puppy ringing in the New Year.... Just kidding, she's actually quite the party pooper and looked like this by 9 PM: My hubby and I had a super low key New Year's Eve night, which was totally fine with both of us. We ate and drank, played Scrabble, and enjoyed our Christmas decor and tree for one more night before I took it all down today. Since I had the time, I fooled around in the kitchen last night and came up with some yummy eats and drinks.... Today I'm sharing the recipes for homemade Old Bay potato chips and French onion dip. Both are easyyyy peezy to make, and so scrumptious to pick on while kicking ass in playing Scrabble. They don't necessarily have to be paired together, but they make one delicious appetizer combo. Homemade ... [Read More]
Cream Cheese Mushroom Puffs
Happy 2013 everyone! I'm now back in San Diego. I had a wonderful time in Jersey but was also happy to get home. My entire trip, I was surrounded by people who caught a cold or the flu. I felt great throughout the holidays and thought I was somehow beating catching the sickness, but the very last day before I flew back to the West coast, I started to feel crappy. Traveling probably didn't help, and the past 2 days I've had a full-blown upper respiratory thing going on - congested sinuses, scratchy throat and all. I despise being sick and am doing all I can to recover ASAP. At the moment I'm eating a bowl of berries and drinking green tea: Wish me luck in kicking it! My time in Jersey was full of family, friends, lots of laughter, and good food & drinks. What else could a girl ask for? ... [Read More]
Labor Day Weekend Snack: Cheesy Bean Dip
Happy Labor Day Weekend! My Sunday so far has been a great day. This morning Adam, Harley, and I took Adam's dad hiking at one of my usual spots in Mission Trails Park, Kwaay Paay Summit (which I've talked about before here). I haven't gone hiking lately because Harley gets worn out easily in the summer heat. She did a pretty good job today, except for her constant efforts to find a shady spot to chill on the way down the summit. Here are a few picture attempts of my little family and me: Clearly Harley wasn't in the mood to pose for photos. After our hike, we spent a few hours in the gorgeous sunshine relaxing on the beach in La Jolla. It's definitely been a nice day so far! :) One of the eats we've enjoyed this weekend is this Mexican-style layer ... [Read More]
Herbed Goat Cheese Fondue
Hope your week is off to a good start! My Monday consisted of getting work done, heading to the dog beach with Adam and Harley, and getting a workout in. After being sore all weekend from my gym session on Friday, I was happy to not feel so achy today and headed to the gym for what turned out to be a great workout. I felt fabulous afterwards. :) Last Saturday, Adam and I had a laid back night hanging out at home. When coming up with a dinner idea, I thought it'd be a perfect night to indulge in something fun and new. I had ripped a recipe for goat cheese fondue out of Vegetarian Times magazine, and decided to give it a go. I made a few changes to their original recipe, such as using Fontina instead of Swiss cheese. (As big of a cheese lover as I am, I don't enjoy Swiss at all.) I ... [Read More]
