Last Saturday marked my first time attending a pro golf event. My hubby is a golf fan, so I got us a few tickets to see the Charles Schwab Cup at Harding Park in San Francisco. I don't think I've ever had a bad time at a pro sporting event, even if I have little idea who the athletes are and how the sport works, like in golf! We walked around a lot following a few of the top players as they moved from hole to hole. I'm not sure if it's usually like this since this was my first golfing event, but I didn't realize that the golfers move so quickly from one hole to the next. They were booking it! After spending the afternoon at the event and working up an appetite walking a bunch of miles, Adam and I were starving for an early dinner. Protein bars can only hold you over for so ... [Read More]

One Awesome Girls Weekend
On Saturday my old college roomies flew into San Francisco to visit me for a long weekend, and I've had so much fun with them the past couple of days! Neither Meaghan or Marla had been to the Bay Area before, so when their flight arrived a few hours late in the afternoon, we made sure to fit fun touristy activities in. First on our list was visiting the Painted Ladies aka the house from the TV show Full House - which we all were obsessed with growing up! After checking that out, we drove down Lombard Street, then stopped to see the Golden Gate Bridge. Afterwards we walked around Fisherman's Wharf, checked out some seals... ...and enjoyed a celebratory girls weekend drink. After that, we met up with a few people in Meg's family who live in/were visiting the area. We went out to ... [Read More]
The Countdown Begins
Good morning from sunny California! I type as I sit here eating my late breakfast of a big ole bowl of fruit. Yum. Thus far, my weekend has been a lot of fun. On Friday night my hubby and I went to Clos LaChance winery for a wine member party. We picked up our latest wine shipment, enjoyed a glass of wine on the house, and listened to some live music. Yesterday my day was spent in San Francisco. A friend I grew up with, Ashley, was in town with her boyfriend on vacation. She and I have been friends since we began cheerleading together as young kids. We even shared a parking spot and drove to school together our senior year of high school. She lives in Jersey and I don't get to see her often, so it was great to have a double date lunch together and catch up a bit! After we ... [Read More]
Touring Clos LaChance Winery in San Martin
Hi friends! Long time no talk. Happy 4th of July weekend! My parents, younger brother, and sister flew into San Francisco on Wednesday afternoon from New Jersey, and we've been having a lot of fun together ever since. We spent the afternoon that they arrived walking around Fisherman's Wharf, checking out shops, having a bite to eat, and sipping Irish coffees from the famous Buena Vista. Since my hubby and I just moved to the Bay Area a couple of months ago, this is the first time that my family has visited us here. It's been fun showing them around our new area and having them at our new home. Though my brother and sister have met Harley before when visiting, this is the first time that my parents have met her. Harley is such a character and big part of my little family, so it's ... [Read More]
Muir Woods National Monument, Mill Valley
The first day of our Memorial Day weekend getaway, my hubby and I planned to spend the afternoon exploring the Muir Woods National Park, then head towards our hotel in Napa. In the morning, we dropped Harley off at the kennel - which was slightly traumatic because it's the first time we've taken her to a new kennel since moving. Our last kennel was pretty fancy schmancy and was called a ''pet resort" rather than a kennel. In contrast, this kennel is more like a ranch style kind of place where the dogs are allowed to run around together more freely. We were a little worried that Harley would display her typical only child syndrome and snap at another dog for taking a ball or something... but my excitement for our weekend plans overpowered my worry about my pup, and we quickly dropped ... Girl Time in San Francisco
Hi friends! What an awesome weekend it has been...though it zipped by so quickly! Yesterday I got to hang out with one of my best friends, Danielle. She lives in Jersey but was here in California for work all last week, so we planned a weekend together. We met in San Francisco yesterday morning, and it was a beautiful day out. I've only been to San Fran once before when Adam and I did a road trip up the California coast, so I was excited to see the city again. We did some touristy things, including driving down the windy Lombard st... ...checking out the Golden Gate Bridge... ...walking around Fishermans Wharf: ..and taking lots of pictures of boats, seals, Alcatraz Island, and the gorgeous scenery: After having a bite to eat, we drove back to my area to do some late ...
