Happy Friday! It has been a little crazy around here because... I'm moving back to San Diego tomorrow! And I closed on my house there yesterday! The signing process got delayed a bit because of the intense wild fire situation going on there, but my new home should be safe from harm and is officially ours. :) I'll share pictures soon! Oh, and have I mentioned that it has been so hot in Morgan Hill all week? It's "cooler" here today, which means 90 degrees instead of yesterday's 99 degrees. It's May madness! While I am so excited to be going back to San Diego, I have had a lot of fun since moving to the South San Francisco Bay Area 14 months ago. I thought it'd be nice to reflect on my favorite memories of living up here, so here we go: Hiking - This is the most rural ... [Read More]

Random Weekend Ramblings
Hello friends! Hope that you all had a fabulous weekend. I'm in a random kind of mood, so I'm going to share some rambling thoughts and recent happenings in my life with you tonight. Sound good? Let's get started! I've been meaning to mention this, but recently I became a FitFluential Ambassador! For anyone not familiar with FitFluential, it's an awesome community of influential fitness enthusiasts, and was designed to connect health and wellness brands with their ideal target market through customized marketing campaigns. I applied to be a brand ambassador for them not long after I began blogging and wasn't accepted, and last year I decided to apply again. Second time's a charm! :) I've been a juicing maniac lately. Between putting my juicer to work at home and picking up ... [Read More]
My Next Bold MOVE
Happy Friday! I've been MIA working in Vegas all week, but now I'm back home in Cali and excited to share a big announcement with you today. I think that my hubby and I are adventurous people. For instance, we went skydiving to celebrate our first birthdays together. We make decisions with our intuition and heart. For example, we had an engagement party a few months after the proposal so that our families could meet each other, and when people asked when we were getting married we said, "We're going to the courthouse to make it official this Friday!" It felt so crazy and exciting, but I knew it was right for us. While I don't make impulse decisions, I also don't plan life out strictly. I like to think things through, decide what feels right to me, then just go with it ... [Read More]
Snapshots of Weekend Awesomeness
I thought of titling this post, "Hiking, massages, and wine tastings, these are a few of my favorite things!" but then thought better of such a lengthy title. But, my weekend had a lot of awesomeness in it, so I thought I'd share some of it with you all. My weekend started off with a hike with Gina and Harley at Mount Madonna Park. The weather was nice and mild, Harley acted like a maniac as usual, and with Gina and I just chatting away, our workout just flew by. I think that these hiking dates need to happen more often! Some of my at-home meals included this delicious breakfast creation.... [Whole wheat flaxseed PB & J waffles topped with strawberry sauce] Does that not just look and sound like a whole lot of yumminess? [A slightly burnt but still good ... [Read More]
New Year’s Day Hike at Uvas Canyon County Park {Morgan Hill}
At the beginning of a new year, I find myself noting a lot of firsts for the year. When I made a green juice for breakfast yesterday morning, I was all, "This is my first meal of 2014, and it's so healthy. Go me!" I didn't wait long to accomplish my first exercise session of 2014. I figured what better way to ring in a new year than to go on a hiking adventure with my hubby and puppy on a nice day? Early afternoon we headed over to Uvas Canyon County Park, a 1,133-acre park in our current town of Morgan Hill that we had never been to before. The things that really intrigued me into visiting the park were: 1.) The fact that you have to drive through a private Swedish settlement called Sveadal to get into the park 2.) Waterfalls! Even though 2013 was the driest year on record ... [Read More]
Weekend Awesomeness
Yup, another weekend has sped on by. Besides doing a couple of hours of freelance writing work, my weekend was obligation-free and fabulous. Here are some snapshots of the bits of awesomeness that made up my Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. Caramel apples make my dog very attentive: On Saturday evening, my hubby and I had a mountain biking date at our favorite spot around here. The views are gorgeous, there are lots of animals around, and because it's kind of in the middle of nowhere, the park is never in the least bit crowded. Adam took a few shots of me riding... which I wasn't even aware of because he's always like a mile ahead of me. Damn his strong legs! As you can kind of tell, there's a steep drop if you steer off the path, and the path is not all that wide. I'm ... [Read More]
