Black Bean Taquitos with Avocado Lime Cashew Cheese Sauce {vegan} // 5 Super Bowl Recipe Ideas
This Sunday is the Super Bowl, which I always equate with not only football, but food of course! As a huge football fan, I usually get a little sad this time of the year when the season is winding down and the games are no longer on normal Sunday, Monday and Thursday times. But this year, I only feel a smidge sad because my team, the New York Giants, were TERRIBLE this year & it was often sort of painful to watch them play. Still, as a Giants fan, it's an interesting dynamic to have a Super Bowl game be between the Eagles and the Patriots. On one hand, the Eagles are the Giants' nemesis, and being so geographically close to one another in New Jersey & Philly, it's easy to hate on each other. On the other hand, the Patriots are annoying to anyone not a Patriots fan. Tom Brady is ... [Read More]

Hey, hey! How was your weekend? Mine was a good one that was full of sports! My husband and I went to the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, which was neat. I'm not a huge golf person but find sporting events of pretty much any kind fun - plus it was my first time at the Torrey Pines golf course, and the views were beautiful as expected! I also watched a lot of tennis, as the Australian Open came to a close. Watching the Williams sisters compete against each other in the finals was inspiring - I mean, they are such badass female athletes! - so on Sunday my hubby and I headed to the tennis courts nearby to get in a workout together. We're not technically all that great at tennis, but we have fun and get some exercise, so that's all I really care ... [Read More]
Mediterranean Feta & Lemon Hummus Dip
Hi friends! So, this weekend's the big game in California... and while I have no strong feelings towards one team or the other, I always love a good Super Bowl! The actual game, the half-time show, the obscenely expensive commercial spots... I love it all. And we obviously can't forget about football food! I've been drooling at my computer screen all week checking out my fellow blogger friends' recipes for game day, and today I'm sharing a new yummy one of my own. While I'm a sports fan in general, football is definitely my favorite sport. I grew up with my dad coaching football (still does!), so I think I was kind of bred into loving the sport. I was a competitive cheerleader from ages 7-17 who cheered at many football games, both of my brothers played football growing up (one ... [Read More]
(Super Bowl Recipe Idea Alert!) Chickpea Sliders with Vegan Garlic Aioli
Hi friends! Hope you had a nice weekend! My weekend was pretty low-key, and the highlights were a Friday evening light hike with my little family, a pedi/lunch date with a girlfriend on Saturday and a trip to the dog beach on Sunday afternoon. Do you know what my weekend did not include? Football. Well, technically that's not true, since I did watch a bit of the Pro Bowl when Serena Williams' match at the Australian Open last night went to commercial, but that's only kinda sorta a real NFL game. This is the time of the year when the NFL season ends, and on one hand, it's nice because I have extra time to do other things on Sundays; but on the other hand, I get a little sad because I love watching football and all of a sudden there's this empty hole in my sports viewing life. ...
