Hi friends! I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend. My long weekend was a great one, and here were some of its highlights: I kicked off my weekend with a walk along the beach with my little family. I had planned on getting an at-home workout in afterwards, but wound up not feeling like it at all. Most of the time when I'm feeling this way I just push through an exercise session, but once in a blue moon I just skip it - especially when I've worked out every other day that week as was the case on Friday night. Instead of working out I baked banana bread, read blogs, made white broccoli pizza and watched a movie.....and it was fabulous. At the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I'm currently a student, one of the core concepts is the idea of primary foods - the things that feed you and bring joy and satisfaction into your life that AREN'T food. Examples of primary foods are education, career, spirituality and relationships. In order to live a happy, healthy, fulfilled life, you need to not only follow a diet that fuels your body well, but you also need to have balance and contentment in your primary foods. Celebrating Three Years
Yesterday Adam and I celebrated our third anniversary. We had a low-key night together - I made us homemade minestrone soup, we went to the dog beach with Harley at sunset, and then played cards & enjoyed some yummy red zinfandel at home. A few sights from the beach: Thus far our marriage has been full of adventure and travel. The day after we got hitched, Adam and I moved from the Northeast to Florida for a few months while he finished schooling for his job in the Marine Corps... After that, we embarked on a journey moving to the West coast. We had an amazing time road tripping 2,500+ miles, and got to see some awesome sights across the country.
