If you're an exercise enthusiast, the IDEA World Convention is a wonderful event to attend. Not only does it attract lots of personal trainers, but it also brings bloggers and health coaches like myself together, along with fitness lovers who don't work in the industry and come solely to participate in the workouts and get inspired by motivational speakers in the fitness world. Last weekend I got the chance to attend this year's IDEA World Convention. A few years ago I was able to go to Fit Approach's Blogfest within IDEA World (recaps here, here and here), but unfortunately this year I could only make it up to Los Angeles for a day. There were some seminars that looked interesting, but I decided to keep it simple and instead participate in a few workouts, then explore the expo ... [Read More]

The Highlight of 2014 IDEA World’s Blogfest: Jillian Michaels! {Day 2 Recap}
Happy Hump Day everyone! This week is going by fast for me, partly because I've been trying to catch up on work and rest the past few days. I was beat after having a busy schedule, so much fun, and little sleep while at IDEA World! Speaking of which, today I'm recapping day two of the convention. Let's get to it! My Friday began with a 7 AM bootcamp workout with Caroline and Moe, who are both fitness instructors in Boston. I met both of these women the first day of Blogfest, and immediately thought that they both were super cool. Caroline and I already had been following each other on Twitter, and I recognized her from social media. This seemed to be a theme at IDEA World, which made it even more fun because you're meeting people you already virtually "know." The ladies led the ... [Read More]
Jillian Michaels’ Yoga Inferno DVD Review
Hi everyone! I thought today I'd share with you my love of doing yoga and thoughts on a new workout DVD from Jillian Michaels called Yoga Inferno. If you've never done yoga, I highly suggest that you try it. It's beneficial for every single person out there -- whether you're a seasoned athlete trying to improve flexibility, a person with back issues, or an exercise newbie who wants to expand your horizons. The great part about yoga is that you do things at your own level and pace. If you're interested in trying yoga but don't want to go to a class, I suggest following a few YouTube videos or DVDs to get a feel for what style works best for you. I used to not practice yoga because I thought it was too slow-paced for my liking, but my how things have changed! I like doing yoga on ... [Read More]
Mmm Mmm Muffins: Banana Cinnamon Muffins from Skinny Bitch
After having various puppy toys nudged onto my lap for most of the day in an effort to get me to play, I took a break from working this afternoon to take Harley to run around at a nearby park. By the end of our playtime she was a very happy girl: Check out the dirt on her tongue. Yum. This morning I whipped up a batch of banana cinnamon muffins from my Skinny Bitch cookbook. I've made these a few times before and they are delish! I've tried out a lot of recipes from this book and have enjoyed the vast majority of them. I like the author's no-nonsense approach to clean eating. Her recipes are all vegan, but I tend to add some dairy into the mix, as I did with these muffins today. The only problem I've noticed with the cookbook is that sometimes the nutrition stats and/or serving sizes ... [Read More]
