Often when we talk about health, we focus on diet and exercise, but we all know that there are a lot of other factors that go into us feeling our best. Some other things that I think are super important are keeping stress levels at bay, getting enough sleep and proper hydration. Our bodies depend on water to survive and thrive. Every cell, tissue, and organ that you and I have needs water to work properly. Being properly hydrated helps to boost brainpower and mood, prevent headaches, improve workout performance, aid with weight loss, and even prevent disease. The standard recommended amount is 8 8-oz glasses of water a day, but everyone is different. I know that I drink more than that, as I'm constantly thirsty and continuously sipping on water throughout the day! Summer is here ... [Read More]

Hello, hello! I'm back on this lovely Wednesday to give you a week 3 update on the DietBet game I'm participating in. Just in case you missed my other weekly recaps and want to check them out: DietBet Week 2 Recap | Persevering When the Scale Won’t Budge DietBet Week 1 Recap + Letting Go of the All-or-Nothing Healthy Living Mentality Exercise Activity-wise, I killed it in week 3. Lots of kickboxing, HIIT, walking my pup, a few hikes, and some yoga practice thrown in there. Saturday was my rest day to relax and give my body a chance to recover, and I did some foam rolling and icing throughout the week - though I'm making a mental note to try to ice every single day. Diet Food-wise, week 3 started off kind of shaky. I was eating healthy, I just wasn't nixing the ... [Read More]
Striving for Better Balance in Life {pHenOH 7.4 Sports Drink Review}
Disclaimer: The following post is sponsored by pHenOH through my ambassadorship with Fit Approach. As always, all opinions expressed are my own. If I had to describe what healthy living means to me in one word, I'd say balance. Balance is a tricky thing: You don't just have it and keep it, it's something that you need to constantly work at, and it isn't always easily found. I've found myself swinging too far over on one side on the coin, only to later find myself way over in the other direction. But the beauty is that every day is a chance to achieve better balance, in whatever way you need it. A couple of the main ways that I'm constantly trying to keep things aligned in my life include: Balancing exercising often while also giving my body a chance to rest. Maintaining a ... [Read More]
Giveaway! Cocogo: Real Fruit Hydration On-the-Go
Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm back this week participating in The Skinny on Health's Fit Tip Tuesday blogger party, and today there's also a giveaway involved! I've mentioned ... [Read More]
Product Review: Ignite Naturals IN Refresh Electrolytes
When it comes to hydrating, I drink water like a crazy person. I always have a glass of water next to me at home, and my refillable water bottle on hand when I'm out. I constantly feel thirsty and if I don't have water around, I realize it quickly. On nights when I drink alcohol, my water consumption gets a little ridiculous. What can I say, I suppose I'm like a camel! (via) I mostly drink just plain old water, but sometimes I like some flavor to my H20. I'll either squeeze some lemon and add stevia sweetener or make green tea. Once in awhile I drink Crystal Light Pure, which is sweetened with sugar and truvia natural sweetener, but isn't exactly an amazing health food. I definitely try to keep it natural and stay away from artificial sweeteners the vast majority of the time. I don't ... [Read More]
