Happy 2021 friends! I think it's safe to say that 2020 was a challenging year for us human beings as a whole. I never could have pictured quarantining for months, watching my little one 24/7 while running a small business, making grocery store trips every 3 weeks with a mask on, and not seeing family members who live only 2 hours away for a good part of the year. But despite 2020's hardships, I move into this new year with a grateful heart and an optimist look ahead. January always gets me motivated to set new goals and intentions, and my mantra for the year is to live consciously. I want to be mindful about my attitudes & perceptions. ⠀ ⠀ How I parent. ⠀ ⠀ How I love my husband, family & friends. ⠀ ⠀ The work that I do. ⠀ ⠀ The food that I eat. ⠀ ⠀ The ways ... [Read More]

To Plan or Not to Plan? Finding the Right Balance for Your Happiest Life
Every week I share a #MondayMotivation post on Instagram. The post usually reflects my mood & mindset, so some weeks the quote is centered on success or attitude, other weeks it's more about travel and adventure, and sometimes it's specifically geared towards a healthy lifestyle. Sometimes doing so is tough because I get super ... [Read More]
Mastering the Art of a Positive Mindset
"Perpetual optimism is a force multiplier." — Colin Powell I had another post planned for today, but I got to thinking about positivity this week and decided that I want to chat about this today instead! I believe in the Law of Attraction, therefore I want to bring positivity into my headspace and life as much as possible. But people seem to think that being an optimist means you ignore anything negative or pretend that crappy things aren't happening. I don't believe that this denial type of attitude is healthy for people ... [Read More]
Striving for a Healthier Lifestyle? Surround Yourself with Healthy People
It's been said that you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. While we often think about healthy living as largely a sum of eating habits and activity level, sometimes we tend to forget about the importance of mental health and surrounding ourselves with healthy, positive people to help us lead healthier lives ourselves. When I was a student at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to become a health coach, we talked a lot about what we refer to as 'primary food' - the things that feed you that aren't food, like relationships, career, physical activity and a social life. Relationships are such a big aspect of health, and they have the power to bring us up or hold us down throughout our lives in such significant ways. I got to thinking about this topic ... [Read More]
