It's September... which means it's the start of football season... which obviously means I'm thinking about football food! I love the start of football season. I feel like by the end the season, I'm a little sad but also usually ready for it to end - ready to have my full weekends back to do other things. But then when August rolls around, I start to get excited again for football. Football season means Sunday and Monday nights filled with NFL football. It means catching college games at sports bars. This year, now that I'll be living in the northeast, it means going to a few of my dad's team's high school football games in Jersey. And for the last several years, it's also meant Fantasy Football fun. Last week I had my Fantasy Football draft during my cross country trip ... [Read More]

Celebrating Football Fandom with DICK’S Sporting Goods
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of DICK'S Sporting Goods. All opinions are 100% mine. As a lover of fitness and active living, sports are definitely a passion of mine. When it comes to my own workout routine, sports play a big part. Boxing is one of my all-time favorite ways to break a sweat, hitting the tennis courts for a friendly competition with my husband is always fun, and as an adventure lover, the feeling of racing down a trail on my mountain bike is an adrenaline rush like no other. Watching professional sports is big in my household. I love absorbing myself in big events like the Olympics, Grand Slam tennis tournaments, and Vegas fights that thrill the the boxing world. Even soccer games have even grown on me due to my husband's constant watching. But when ... [Read More]
Touring the Philadelphia Eagles Stadium
In honor of this weekend's NFL playoffs games happening - and in what happens to be the morning after the Eagles suffered a crushing playoff loss - today I'm recapping my recent trip to Philadelphia to tour the Eagles stadium, Lincoln Financial Field. Adam and I surprised my father-in-law with the tour as a Christmas gift. As you may remember, I'm a NY Giants fan, but he's a big Eagles fan, so we thought it'd be neat to see with him. We started off in the Eagles Pro Shop, which was a huge store with everything Eagles that you could possibly imagine, from normal gear like jerseys and hats to Eagles-clad cutting boards and purses. It was a group tour with a guide who was very knowledgable about everything about the Philly team. We learned about the history of the team and stadium ... [Read More]
Reasons Why I’m Loving Football
During long flights, my brain wanders and I get to thinking about lots of random things. One of those things on my travels over to Europe was the game of football. I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it on the blog before, but I grew up in a football family. My dad has been a high school athletic director and football coach my entire life, my brothers played football, and one of them now coaches as well. I was a competitive cheerleader growing up, and cheered at football games from the age of 7 up to 17. So while I get that a lot of women have no interest in football, I not only understand the game, I love it. With football season officially underway, here are some reasons why I’m digging the sport right now: Funday Sunday…and Monday: NFL football makes Sunday and Monday nights (and ... [Read More]
Super Bowl Fun
This morning I woke up feeling excited like a little kid on Christmas. (Ok, feeling like I still feel waking up on Christmas as a grown adult..) Because today is the SUPER BOWL! I'm going over to my friend Tiffany's place to watch the game and made a few snacks to bring with me: ...the homemade hummus pictured that I whipped up a bit ago. You can't tell from the picture, as hummus is not very visually pleasing, but I assure you this recipe is simple and delicious! I'm bringing celery, carrots, pretzel thins, and crackers to dip into it. ....And cheesecake stuffed strawberries! My friend Angi sent me this recipe recently and I figured the Super Bowl is the perfect occasion to try it out. I'm in a bit of a rush to walk Harley and head to Tiffany's for the game, but I will be ... [Read More]
Starting Your Day Off Right
Happy Monday! Rewind to yesterday: I started my Sunday off hiking with my pup at a nearby park. There's just something so serene about hiking in a great park, whether it's sunny or not. It's so peaceful for me! The rest of my day was full of football, and I'm quite a happy girl because THE GIANTS ARE IN THE SUPER BOWL!!! Besides being glued to my TV all afternoon, I made a dinner worth sharing: hhomemade tomato soup! I am a big tomato soup fan, and I usually buy the organic Trader Joe's brand. While eating some of it last week, I decided that I should try to make my own. That very day as I was flipping through a magazine, I saw this advertisement: (My apologizes, blurry photo courtesy of an iPhone shot.) I decided to give it a go! I tweaked some of the ingredients a bit, and ... [Read More]
